Information For Unit Teams

  • The color guard and drill team are made of Cadets who have the desire to learn more about sharpening their military drill movements. And they represent Johnson High School in ceremonies competitions and parades.

    Drill Team Commander: 

    Color Guard Commander: 

    Drill Team and Color Guard are both Monday through Thursday. From 3:30 to 4:30 P.M.

  • Orienteering is a skill that consists of land navigation through unfamiliar terrain with a compass and map depending on what the rules of the competitions are. They compete through pre designated trails with control points within them. The cadets create their own paths throughout the competitions and attempt to make the shortest route to the finish. The object is to be the fastest to finish these 1-mile-4-mile runs.

    Orienteering Commander: 

    Orienteering is on Thursday. From 3:30 to 4:30 P.M.

  • Academic team consists of cadets who are willing to learn a wide variety of general knowledge. Cadets are tested on general knowledge questions such as what they’ve learned in ROTC and other useful information.

    Academic Team Commander:

    Academic Team is on Monday. From 3:30 to 4:30 P.M.

  • Marksmanship team is made up of cadets who already wish to shoot well. The marksmanship team represents Johnson High School in local state and national events. They shoot in portals (where the host school sends the target through the mail) and in person competitions.

    Rifle Team Commander: 

    Rifle Team is on Tuesday. From 3:30 to 4:30 P.M.
