Lyndon B. Johnson High School opened its doors in fall 2001 as United ISD’s fourth high school. Proudly serving south Laredo, we are the Wolves, Cultivating Hearts and Minds through rigorous instruction, career development, and extracurricular activities. Our goal is to help every student grow and succeed in a safe, supportive environment.

Santiago Moreno – 2026 National Ambassador for the “Do the Write Thing”
Santiago Moreno, a 9th grade student at Lyndon B. Johnson 9th Grade Campus was honored at this evening's UISD Board Meeting, for being selected as the 2026 National Ambassador for the "Do the Write Thing" (DtWT) Challenge of Laredo. Santiago was selected from an impressive pool of 1,373 student essay submissions representing United ISD, Laredo ISD, and Zapata ISD. The Do the Write Thing initiative, sponsored by Communities in School of Laredo, is a nationally recognized anti-violence program that empowers students to take an active role in addressing and preventing violence through personal expression, writing, and reflection. Students are encouraged to explore and share ideas and solutions to create safer communities. Not only is Santiago a published author, but his literary work will be preserved in the Library of Congress. As a National Ambassador, Santiago received an all-expenses-paid trip to Washington D.C. , where he represented Communities in Schools of Laredo. Congratulations, Santiago.
